And we are off
.
..
” When the going gets tough, the tough getste going ”, this is the award winning caption that was once used by a leading tire manufacturing company during the launch of one of their newer tires. Today, kindly permit us to borrow this winning caption to summarize our past as well as our future. This caption in our first Annual Report not only captures our struggles of the past but also reminds us of what we are capable of when the odds are stacked against us. It reflects our firm resolve to create a new beginning for ourselves, the beginning of a long journey
..
Having extricated ourselves from an abyss, a small group encompassing 27 families came together to lay the foundation for the first Madhya Kerala Diocese affiliated CSI Church in the Chicagoland area. As the rest of the world stood partly frozen on Sunday the 1st of February 2004, several pairs of feet shuffled across the snow in the parking lot of the Booth Tarkington School in Wheeling, Illinois to begin our very first worship service in the school gymnasium. Rev. Alex P Oommen of the CSI Congregation of Dallas led us in worship. An year has passed since then. Today, with a very thankful heart, the 2004 Ad-Hoc Committee is pleased to present the first Annual Report of St. Mark’s CSI Church.
