The Choir continued to play a very active role in church throughout the year. Choir practices were conducted on all Sundays preceding Easter Recital and Carol Service as well as on certain other Sundays as called for by the Choir Director.

Our Easter Recital  was conducted on Saturday 27th April and included a selection of songs reflecting the last days of Jesus Christ on this earth as well as his glorious resurrection.  My sincere thanks to Rev. Daniel Varghese who gracefully accepted our invitation to be the chief guest at this event.

On behalf of the Choir, I once again welcome the three new additions to our senior choir namely, Anita Anto, Susan Thomas and Krystle Thomas.

It has been a great pleasure to introduce the Junior Choir in 2006 and I once again extend a very hearty welcome to Akkina Abraham, Kelly Kurian, Anjali Varghese, Sarah Kurian, Anand Shaji and Julie Thomas.

The highlight of our achievements this year was the introduction of the Junior Choir during our carol service on under the direction of Sonia Philip.  Though challenging and interesting, the newcomers performed admirably well during the carol service and rendered three beautiful songs.  I take this opportunity to thank Sonia Philip for her

interest, hard work and a very professional approach.  I also thank the parents for willing to wait the extra hours during practice sessions.

Our annual Songs & Lessons was conducted in the cathedral on Saturday the 16th of December.  Rev. Canon Scott Hayashi of the Chicago Episcopal Church graced the evening with his presence.  I would like to thank all those who played musical instruments during the service, namely Rev Shaji Thomas and Anil (guitar) and Joe Lukose (drums).  My thanks to all those who brought guests to this event.

Last, but not the least, I extend a very big THANK YOU to our Choir Director Babu Philip for his continued leadership and direction. My sincere thanks to Rev Shaji Thomas for his continued interest, encouragement and support.

As we head into another year, I seek God’s guidance and blessings upon our Choir.  May He enable us to continue to sing his praises and glorify his name in 2007 and the years to come.  My sincere thanks to the congregation for your encouragement and support.
